Mark Lavergne was born in 1981 in Church Point, Louisiana. He has been drawing since he could crawl.

When he was 8 years old his family moved to Central Texas where he has lived ever since. Back then he drew a lot of superheroes.

He graduated in 1999 from Leander High School, and in 2003 from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s of Journalism. During this time he drew on occasion, but not prolifically.

In 2006 he spent a semester in a Catholic seminary, training to become a priest. In 2007 he left the seminary in good standing and became a reporter covering Texas politics in Austin. In 2011 he went to work for a state agency, doing communications and publications editing.

In the last several years, Mark has rediscovered his love of drawing. The HoorayToons web comic began on August 10, 2012.

Mark is married to the lovely Terri Lavergne. They currently reside in Cedar Park, Texas.
